Arrival at SU

Arrival and Orientation Services are provided for International Students coming to Southwestern University their first semester.

International students are provided with an International & Exchange Student Handbook to assist with the transition to university life at Southwestern University in the United States. This handbook serves to begin orienting international students to life and studies at Southwestern University, in Georgetown, Texas.

Arrival

For students arriving at the Austin-Bergstom International Airport (AUS) on the official arrival date (typically Wednesday or Thursday prior to the start of Welcome Week or Transfer Student Orientation), a staff member from the Office of Study Abroad and International Student Services will provide airport pick-up.

For students arriving by car on arrival day, instructions will be provided a few weeks in advance with check-in information, a campus map and directions.

Please note that the official international student arrival date, and check-in to the Residence Halls,  is earlier than domestic students. This allows students to attend the mandatory International Student Orientation and acclimate to campus life.
