Southwestern University
Health Education
At Southwestern University, the Health Education Office actively promotes the health and wellness of every student.
Who Are We:
The Health Education Office is a division of the Counseling and Health Center that strives to promote the holistic well-being of Southwestern students. Our programs, services, and resources are built upon the needs of SU students, as well as the six different dimensions of wellness: Mental, Intellectual, social, Cultural, Occupational, and Physical. The Health Education’s Mission is to:
- Bring awareness to and inform students about holistic wellness.
- Create inclusive spaces where all students feel valued, heard, and accepted.
- Intentionally create spaces for marginalized students to build community and break through stigma.
- Utilize peer lead facilitation and curriculum creation.
Our goal is to educate, empower and equip all students with primary and secondary preventative health care skills and resources to navigate the ever-changing landscape and demands of college life. By providing educational resources, guest speaker opportunities, activities, and health education through peers, this multi-level approach promotes overall health in students at Southwestern University.
