Commencement

Inclement Weather Plan

Due to the outlook of severe weather, the Class of 2023 Commencement Convocation Ceremony will move indoors. Please inform your guests of the following information.

The Commencement Convocation Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 13, in the Corbin J. Robertson Center, Robertson Court at 6:00 p.m. Special needs seating will begin at 4:45 p.m. and general admission seating will begin at 5:15 p.m.

Graduates will still report to the Robertson Center’s Walzel Courts beginning at 5:00 p.m. to line up with their classmates.

Due to the capacity limit of the Robertson Courts, families will be limited to seven guests per graduate. Each guest must have a ticket in order to attend the in-person ceremony. Graduates may pick up their guests’ tickets at the Commencement Information Desk, located in the Red & Charline McCombs Campus Center (Concourse) on Saturday, May 13, between the hours of 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Graduates must show an ID at pick up.

We recognize that additional family members may be in town to celebrate the special day. Please encourage them to visit one of our streaming locations:

  • Red & Charline McCombs Campus Center, McCombs Ballrooms (seating for 300)
  • F.W. Olin Building, Rooms 105 and 110 (seating for 225)

Please view the Commencement Schedule for an updated outline of event locations.

Note, the Class of 2023 Reception has moved into the Red & Charline McCombs Campus Center, Bishops Lounge. The reception will begin at 8:00 p.m. Our Commencement Speaker, Trent Harmon, will provide an acoustic performance. Additionally, students may return their graduation robes in the Bishops Lounge.

Flower sales will take place prior to and following the ceremony in the Red & Charline McCombs Campus Center and the Corbin J. Robertson Center.

We look forward to celebrating with you this Saturday.
