Class of 2021
Dear Seniors and Families,
On behalf of the Southwestern University community, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations on your remarkable accomplishment. It is my pleasure to invite you to join us as we honor the Class of 2021 during Southwestern’s 177th Commencement Convocation ceremony.
The goal of education, particularly at Southwestern, is to transform lives — to help individuals learn how to think more imaginatively and wisely today so they are able to innovate and create artful solutions to the problems of tomorrow.
Graduates, as we approach this time of celebration, I encourage you to reflect on the moments that have transformed you as an individual, and I challenge you to fearlessly seek these moments for the rest of your lives. Remember that the relationships you have cultivated and the lessons you have learned at Southwestern will continue beyond the walls of our classrooms.
If this past year has taught us anything, it’s that personal connections matter. Your relationships with your friends, professors, mentors, and your alma mater will stay with you for a lifetime.
As alumni, you — the Class of 2021 — will join an extraordinary group of individuals who represent hope, creativity, and a true passion for life-long learning. I am honored to be your president at Southwestern University, and I wish you all the very best in your futures.
