Class of 2020
Dear Class of 2020 Graduate,
Mark Twain once wrote,
“There isn’t time, so brief is life, for bickerings, apologies, heartburnings, callings to account. There is only time for loving, and but an instant, so to speak, for that.”
If the year 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that personal connections matter. Your relationships with your friends, professors, mentors, and your alma mater can stay with you for a lifetime. At Southwestern, we continue to celebrate you, your connections, and your contributions to our community. While we have not honored your accomplishment yet with a formal ceremony marking the completion of your degree, we have made plans to do just that in 2021.
I am pleased to share that our faculty will confer to you your Southwestern degree in a formal Commencement Convocation, scheduled for Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. This ceremony is solely for the Class of 2020. We hope that you and your family will join us for this special occasion.
Congratulations on the completion of your degree from Southwestern University! Our community is very proud of you and what you accomplished during your time as a Southwestern student. Stay close to your classmates and mentors; become engaged with our strong alumni network; and, remember, you will always be a Southwestern University Pirate at heart.
