Career Services offers an extensive collection of publications to help you explore majors and occupations, research employers and graduate schools and search for internships and jobs.
The Resource Center is open Monday-Friday throughout the calendar year (excluding university holidays) for drop-in visits. No appointment is necessary; however, we encourage you to call ahead because on rare occasions we close the Resource Center to use it for a meeting, program or interview.
In addition to books and pamphlets, the Resource Center has bulletin boards advertising jobs, internships and grad programs.
WHAT BOOKS CAN I FIND IN THE RESOURCE CENTER?
More than 500 print resources exist in our resource library to help you explore career options, search for internship and full-time jobs and apply to graduate and professional school. These books cannot be removed, but free copies are available of pages in which you’re interested. Some books have duplicates that are available for check-out.
Don’t forget the Smith Library as a source of career information as well. For example, check out the Career Outlook journal in Worldcat, the university’s online catalog. At least one major article in each issue focuses on a particular career while other pieces cover aspects of the labor market or highlight jobs with strong potential for growth. This publication always contains a wealth of data, including projections about the future of the labor force, industry, and a large variety of occupations. The library’s Worldcat catalog includes more than 30,000 e-books.
