Host an Externship

Southwestern University offers you the opportunity to effectively market your organization to our students and faculty through employer site visits called “Career Treks.” Maintaining your organization’s image on campus even if you’re not actively hiring is an important part of your overall recruiting strategy.

The goal of this program is to provide exposure for your organization to our students as well as introduce you to potential interns from Southwestern. We also give you the opportunity to network with faculty for informal exchange of information. Our hope is to provide students with the opportunity to determine if their career interests match their perceptions of a particular career field. Southwestern’s Career Trek program is open to all SU students regardless of major or classification. Faculty members are invited based on the field represented by the organization.

Examples of site visit activities could include:

  • Orientation/presentation
  • Lunch with recent hires or interns, etc.
  • Facility tour
  • Presentation by various departments
  • Closing and final questions
