The Center for Career & Professional Development strives to build strong relationships with employers. We invite you to take a closer look at Southwestern University students as you plan for your hiring and intern needs.

Please learn a little more about our students by reading below and then select from the links on the right to address your interests (click on “campus recruiting” for advertising jobs and/or setting up on-campus interviews). You can also download our recruiting brochure. Southwestern University is Texas’ preeminent national liberal arts and sciences college — the highest ranked Texas institution among 160 national liberal arts colleges in the United States. The value of a liberal arts education, including to employers of liberal arts grads, has been strongly documented.  We believe our students will make strong contributions to your efforts, but we’re not the only ones. The university continues to receive national recognition for its academic excellence:

The students, as well as the university, rank highly academically: 37 percent of our entering class in Fall 2017 graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school class. About 33 percent of the Fall 2017 class comes from underrepresented backgrounds.  Eighty-four percent of Southwestern graduates graduate in four years.

The liberal arts and sciences curriculum at Southwestern emphasizes oral and written communication, problem-solving, interdisciplinary knowledge and critical thinking - valuable skills for success in a global economy. Southwestern graduates excel in diverse fields and work around the globe. They are well-rounded, motivated and adaptive.

The Center for Career & Professional Development and Southwestern University are proud of our students, alumni and the academic reputation of the university. But don’t take our word for it - let the students and their resumes speak for themselves.

The Center for Career & Professional Development is a member of the Central Texas Liberal Arts Career Consortium, the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the Cooperative Education and Internship Association and the National Association of Advisors in the Health Professions.
