Check out the work by the first three students: Gabby, Lupe & Christine.
Invertebrate diversity across so many types of habitats make it difficult to capture all of it in a small specimen collection. However, the provision of visual images across the internet provides an opportunity for students to curate their own collection of diversity.
After being constrained by covid-19 for the last few semesters, vaccine availability and our students cooperation afforded the opportunity for the 2022 Invertebrate Ecology class to get out and about in the field.

Our April 7th social event came with biology-themed sweet treats that all related to the research interests of our faculty. Check out the pics and see if you know what Biology faculty engages in that research subject. A few might be a little more obvious but challenge your creativity! It’s lovely to be able to host social events on the FJS patio!
Undergraduate researchers from the Biology Department garnered four presentation awards and a 2nd place team award for Science Jeopardy at the state-wide annual meeting of the Texas Academy of Science.
The grant will help attract, retain, and graduate students with high financial need who are majoring in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.
