Konrad Bouffard ’93
Konrad started Round Rock Honey on July 4, 2002 from his backyard garden. Today, Round Rock Honey is a leading supplier of heirloom-quality honey in Central Texas with products available in more than 1,200 stores and online.
Round Rock Honey also operates the nation’s largest and most celebrated beekeeping school, with over 880,000 participants since first opening, including several persons who have gone on to fill leadership positions in community beekeeping groups throughout Texas & California.
Konrad holds a BA (93) from Southwestern University and an MA (97) from Indiana University at Bloomington. Prior to beginning work as a beekeeper, Konrad taught high school Social Studies in Austin ISD, Pflugerville ISD, and Round Rock ISD, winning a Parent’s Choice Award for Innovative Teaching (04) and a PIE Innovative Teaching Prize (03).
Other companies Konrad has successfully founded, grown, and sold include an online art gallery (www.konrads.com) specializing in hanging mobiles, and a liquid-nitrogen, honey-sweetened ice cream company called Bee’s Freeze.
