Welcome to Southwestern University. I am Ricky Raven, board trustee, and on behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to extend to all a very warm Southwestern welcome. It is an honor to share with you in the inauguration of Laura Skandera Trombley, sixteenth president of Southwestern University. The Board of Trustees is very grateful for your attendance at this momentous occasion.  A love of learning, a longing for discovery, a commitment to pursuing truth and making the world a better place are the underpinnings of a great university. Each of those qualities is present and abundant at Southwestern.  I am beyond humbled and honored to be a part of this amazing board. However, we are all here to share the most special gifts we can possibly give, and those are the gifts of our time, our presence, and our support. Thank you for being a part of this special day at this very special university.
