The Lecture Hall of the F.W. Olin Building is a 80 seat capacity tiered lecture hall with multimedia presentation capabilities.
The faculty has found this lecture hall easily adapts to classes of various sizes. Small and moderate sized classes adjust quite well to presentations using the large screen and the AV/Presentation equipment. Dr. Damon Waitt teaches Genetics in this facility. Dr. Waitt has created original multimedia presentations using the Authorware Software package. These demonstrations integrate various media presentation clips from video, animation, audio and digitized slides. |

Dr. Ed Kain of the Sociology Department uses the Statistical Package for The Social Sciences (SPSS) to teach survey data collection and analysis techniques in his Research Methods course.
Dr. Jacqueline Muir-Broaddus of the Psychology department teaches Developmental Psychology where she and her students use videos and multimedia presentations to enrich assigned journal articles. All this is possible through the use of a Powermac 7500/100 with a PC-DOS compatible card located in the Instructor's console. The AV equipment includes:

The instructor uses a control panel located at the console to select a particular audio and/or video source as input (including computer video and sound). The audio is directed to the sound system and the video to the ceiling-mounted Barco Light Valve Video/Data projector for display on the large screen at the front of the hall.
Dual remote-controlled slide projectors are also mounted in the booth. A multi-speaker sound system complements the multimedia video systems.
