Center of Academic Success Tries to Aid, but Falls Short

It is a rather ironic state of affairs when an office referred to as the Center for Academic Success is, in fact, impeding the success of students at every turn, especially those with disabilities.

The employees of the CAS claim to support ideals of empowerment and independence yet are actually taking power and confining independence by creating a web of bureaucracy so convoluted that it would put the legal system to shame.

Spotlight: Zach Bergstrom

While most of us were recovering from finals this past break, sophomore Zach Bergstrom, along with the rest of the SU men’s and women’s basketball teams, was hard at work.

So far the men’s team has had a very average season. Their record is 4-4 in conference and 8-9 overall.

Heath Ledger Leaves Behind a World in Shock

Why so serious?” is the line, now perhaps ironic, uttered by Heath Ledger in his upcoming role as the Joker in the Batman sequel “The Dark Knight.”

The still hazy events went down (down indeed) something like this: A masseuse (who might not have been licensed, though that really is not as important as most seem to believe) arrived at the apartment at 2:45 p.m. for her regular appointment with Mr. Ledger. A housekeeper let her in and knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger’s bedroom. No one answered.

Heroes Take the Stage

Most SU students have, at one point or another in their time here, lamented the lack of things to do in Georgetown on weekends. Going to Austin is usually a good option in times like this, but it’s harder for those under 21 to have as much fun as their older classmates.

Luckily, the Hideout Theater on Congress and 6th hosts an improv troupe called “Heroes of Comedy” on Saturday nights, and provides an exciting and hilarious alternative to sitting in the dorm alone.
