Campus Bookstore

Textbooks, popular reading, reference/ study aids, campus and New York Times best sellers; office and art supplies; computer software and supplies; magazines; cards; Greek items; Southwestern apparel and gifts. Hours during Parent Orientation: Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The Bookstore is located on the third floor of the Red & Charline McCombs Campus Center.

Downtown Georgetown

Georgetown is the Williamson County seat. And surrounding the historic courthouse in the center of the Georgetown square–along Main and surrounding streets–you'll find dozens of businesses, including:

Free Wi-Fi

Much of Southwestern's campus is blanketed by a wireless connection to the Internet. Several Georgetown retailers also offer free Wi-Fi for your notebook, PDA, BlackBerry and iPhone. They include:

ITS also provides instructions on connecting to the PIRATE wireless network (academic and administrative buildings, academic mall, library) and Apogee wireless network (residence halls).

H-E-B

The Texas-based grocery chain operates two H-E-B locations in Georgetown: at 1101 South IH-35 (University Ave. at IH-35 on northeast side), and 4500 FM 2338 (take University Ave. west to Austin Ave., north on Austin Ave. to Williams Dr., west on Williams Dr. about five miles [toward Sun City]). Both stores have in-store pharmacies and banks. The former is closest to Southwestern's campus: the latter is popular for its vast natural and bulk food sections, and sushi bar. Approx. IKEA

The Scandinavian furniture and accessories store is just down the road. From Georgetown, take IH-35 south, exit 256 toward RM-1431/ Chandler Rd. Left on RM-1431. Ikea is on the east side of IH-35 to your right. Approx. Distance from S.U.: 10 miles.
