The Community Garden recently set a goal of growing 1,000 bags of food to benefit local organizations, during fall 2010. They invite all members of the Southwestern community to turn out on Saturday mornings to help them dig, plant and harvest.

Greenhouse & Community Garden

Southwestern's Greenhouse is used in part for faculty and student research projects, as well as courses on biodiversity, biology of food, botany, genetics and evolution, and ecology. It also doubles as laboratory space for the Biology Department. The greenhouse contains two bays with independent climate control and a 200 ft workroom.

The Community Garden is an organic garden located behind the Studio Arts Building. It has 18 plots open to students, faculty and staff for personal use and larger plots that produce food for the community.
