Southwestern is one of only a handful of undergraduate liberal arts colleges that support a separate school of fine arts. This provides rich opportunities for study and participation in a full range of studio, classroom and performance activities.
As an undergraduate-only institution, Southwestern offers our students the undivided attention of our faculty. Our programs are designed to prepare students for a variety of paths after graduation: teaching, work in the arts, or graduate school.

Alma Thomas Fine Arts Center

Erected in 1956, the three-story Alma Thomas Fine Arts Center houses two live performance theaters, a recital hall, art gallery, studios, practice rooms and offices for the Art and Art History, Music and Theatre Departments. It is also the home of The Sarofim School of Fine Arts, Southwestern’s fine arts school, which fuels the creative pulse of campus with 32 musical concerts, 20 theatre performances and eight art exhibits per year.

As a student, you'll benefit greatly from recent $10 million renovations to the Fine Arts Center, giving you more places to practice, perform and exhibit your works.
