Being affiliated with a greek organization is a unique opportunity; and earning the right to be a member of Zeta Tau Alpha is an indescribable experience which lasts well beyond the four years of college. Technically speaking, recruitment is the process in which non-greek women attend different sorority functions over three days of themed "parties" and learn about various sororities' philanthropies, awards, social activities, intramural sports, campus activities, and histories. Through this process, each sorority on campus attempts to accurately represent its purpose and mission in order to attract girls who share their ideals.

Zeta Tau Alpha stands well above the rest in its dedication to breast cancer prevention, constant Crown Chapter Excellence awards, various parties, sisterhood activities, athletic performance, campus presence, and service events. Wearing the letters, ZTA, not only grants women the opportunity to participate in such activities and earn such awards as fore mentioned, but it accesses a network of remarkable women who individually contribute to the Lambda chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha.

Panhellenic is an organization comprised of all Greek women. As soon as a woman becomes a member of any of the four sororities on the Southwestern campus, she becomes a part of the Southwestern Panhellenic Association as well. Two members, a junior and senior delegate, from each chapter are elected to the governing body of the Association, the Panhellenic Council. In panhellenic, our job is to promote Greek life, plan and organize panhellenic events, and facilitate recruitment. In Zeta, the panhellenic delegates’ job is to share important panhellenic information with the chapter, serve as an expert on recruitment rules, and encourage positive relations with the other sororities.

The recruitment process can be confusing and there are rules that must be followed. These rules are in place to make sure that potential new members are not unfairly influenced by sorority members. These rules are explained by the panhellenic delegates, and if questions arise, potential new members are encouraged to contact any panhellenic delegate.
