BUCS WIN 5TH CONSECUTIVE CHAMPIONSHIP 14-7
[4/26/09] On Sunday, The Bucs traveled down to Westlake Stadium in Austin to play in their 5th consecutive LSA D2 Championship. For the first time in 4 years, however, they were to play a team other than St. Ed's.

SU WINS HISTORIC FINAL HOME GAME AGAINST TRINITY 21-3
[4/19/09] On Sunday, April 19th, the Bucs hosted the Trinity Tigers in a game that had to be rescheduled from earlier in the season. The final home game was historic on multiple levels. First and foremost the 21-3 win allowed the Bucs to complete its 5th straight season undefeated, and ran their record during this time to 30-0.

SU TAKES 1-0 FORFEIT AGAINST LUMBERJACKS
[4/18/09] All SFA had to do was show up with 10 players for the rescheduled game and they were in the playoffs. Ealry on, the prognosis looked good.

HISTORY MADE IN 21-3 WIN OVER AUSTIN COLLEGE
[4/5/09] Stacy and Monty, the heart and soul of the lacrosse team since its inception have kept just about every stat that can be kept over the past 25 years on the field. It is only fitting that on the last season of the Bucs as a storied club team, many of the "untouchable" records have been or are within reach of being broken.

BUCS MOVE TO 3-0 IN CONFERENCE AGAINST MUCH IMPROVED SHSU BEARKATS WITH 19-5 WIN
[3/28/09] The Bucs travelled down to Huntsville for their first game after Spring Break for the first time ever under the helm of Coach Bowman for a game that was much anticipated. The Bearkats, under Coach Fritts have shown a marked improvement over last year and have one of the best players in the league. In fact, at game time SHSU had already secured a playoff spot via conference play.

BUCS RUN OUT OF GAS AGAINST ELON IN 14-4 LOSS
[3/15/09] After two grueling down to the wire, leave it all on the field games in the previous two days, the short handed Bucs were out to play their toughest opponent of the three if you go by the numbers (Elon is ranked in the top 5 in the nation), when they were the least fresh.

SU FALLS 11-10 IN FINAL MINUTE TO SCRAPPY TWC
[3/14/09] After an opening night win against host SCAD, the Bucs woke up the next day and made their way back to the complex to play yet another up and coming and nationally ranked team in TWC. TWC had played many top teams in the nation and had either won or lost by a very close margin. This was a game that I knew we would have to play the entire 60 minutes in order to get the win, despite being a little worn out from the night before.

SOUTHWESTERN WINS 9-7 AGAINST STRONG SCAD PROGRAM
[3/13/09] Back in September, the team sat down to discuss their trips for the upcoming season. With a requirement of OOC games in order to be eligible for post season play, it was imperative that the Bucs make a trip somewhere. The decision was unanimous. The Bucs had NEVER played a team from the SELC. It was, in fact the only conference the Bucs had never strapped on the pads against in its history of the MCLA.

SOUTHWESTERN SWALLOWS TOUGH LOSS AGAINST TEXAS STATE 15-4
[3/7/09] For years Southwestern has played the Bobcats, an LSA D1 top tier program, and has done it very well. Not this year, and not this time.

BUCS ROLL PAST GENTS, MOVE TO 2-0 IN CONFERENCE WITH 22-3 WIN
[3/1/09] On Sunday, the Bucs arose to a Sunny day. It was a day they had much to be thankful for and none of it had to do with lacrosse.

SOUTHWESTERN WINS FIRST CONFERENCE GAME OF YEAR AGAINST ST. EDWARD'S 16-1
[2/22/09] Over the past few years the biggest rival to Southwestern has been St. Edward's University, right down I-35 in Austin. Southwestern and St. Ed's have managed to meet in the conference finals 3 of the last 4 years and met in the semi-finals the other one.

BUCS WIN OOC GAME AGAINST TOUGH MISSOURI STATE 11-7
[2/15/09] After a week of great weather (it was 80 at practice on Friday afternoon), and working with the league to find a way to host games that were originally scheduled for Dallas, the Bucs settled in on a cold Saturday to serve as host to Missouri State as they played two games almost back to back against SFA and then St. Edward's.

BUCS GAIN VALUABLE EXPERIENCE IN 12-3 LOSS TO LONGHORNS
[2/12/09] On Thursday night, the Bucs made the short trip to Austin to take on the #23 Texas Longhorns in the nation in Division 1. This was the first game of the season for Texas and the third for the Bucs.

BUCS LOSE ANOTHER CLOSE ONE TO THE WARRIORS 7-4
[2/7/09] The Bucs, after being told on the field the night before that there were no refs for the game against Harding, came back to Hendrix to play the Warriors, a second year DIII Varsity team. The Bucs travelled to Conway last year in the Warriors seminal season, and played them to a very close 9-8 loss. The Bucs knew they could play with Hendrix and did just that.

A FITTING END TO A SPECIAL GAME
[1/31/09] On December 3, 1983 Southwestern Lacrosse played its first game ever on campus against none other than the Baylor Bears. They lost 1-21. Since that time, Southwestern has played Baylor more than any other team in its history, a total of 33 times. The record has been decidedly in favor of Baylor with an 11-21 record, and Baylor controlling the past two games rather easily.

SOUTHWESTERN WINS ITS FINAL A&M TOURNEY
[12/1/08] Southwestern arrived in College Station with many of the usual questions to be answered. How would the team compare to last year, to the new talent on other teams this year, and would the team be able to fill the holes left behind and prepare for the upcoming season?
