Alpha Delta Pi Sorority has been involved in philanthropic work since its inception in 1851. Our founders were members of Christian service organizations and firmly believed in giving back to the community. At the 1979 Grand Convention, the convention body voted to adopt the Ronald McDonald Houses (Children's Oncology Services, Inc.) as our new national philanthropy. Ronald McDonald Houses are located throughout the world near hospitals, and serve young cancer patients and their families as a “home away from home” during their treatment and convalescence. There are 271 Ronald McDonald Houses in 52 countries and regions, whose function is to provide comfort and care for the families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment. |

Making Valentine's Day gifts for the RMH
in Austin and Temple |
|
| |
| Zeta Chapter furthers Alpha Delta Pi’s tradition of service by visiting local Ronald McDonald Houses in Austin and Temple. As a chapter, we make cookies, cook lunch and dinner, collect toiletries, toys, and other supplies, and clean the RMH in order to help make families’ visits more comfortable and cheerful. We also craft Halloween and Valentine's Day gifts for the families living in the Ronald McDonald Houses. ΑΔΠ believes that a hands-on approach to philanthropy is a true demonstration of caring for others. By spending time with the families at RMH, our members develop the skills and character of passionate and involved citizens. |

Mocktails! Competitions Benefits Local Ronald McDonald Houses |
| |
Our 1st Annual Mocktails! Competition was held in Spring 2011. It was a rousing success, raising money for the families of RMH. Teams of five created a themed, non-alcholic cokctail, or "mocktail", to be sampled by official judges. Attendees were also able to participate and vote on a fan favorite. This year's theme was "Vacation Destinations Around the World", in which teams model their drinks after their favorite vacation place.
Local businesses sponsored the awards for Best in Show, Most Creative, Best Theme, and Most Spirited. Proceeds from each team's entrance fee plus audience ticket sales were donated to our local Ronald McDonald Houses in Austin and Temple. |

The Ronald McDonald House in Austin and the Ronald McDoanld House in Temple needs your help!
The sisters of Alpha Delta Pi collect pull-tabs, also known as pop-tabs, from soda cans to recycle for money to operate the Ronald McDonald Houses year-round. If you see our brightly colored tins around campus, please pop the tab off your drink can and add to our collection. You’ll be surprised to see what those little tabs can do for many families in need. Thanks for your help! |
