How do you join a fraternity?

Southwestern University has a deferred rush process, which means that first-year students must wait until Spring semester to join a fraternity.  Transfer students and students that have completed their first year in school can rush in the Fall.

Fall Rush: During the Fall semester, only transfer and returning students can join a fraternity.  The process is much more informal, and each fraternity usually takes a smaller new member class than in the Spring.

Spring Rush: During the Spring semester, all students must register to go through formal rush.  Additionally, an optional visit to all four chapter houses takes place near the end of the Fall semester.  During formal rush, all students that register will visit all four fraternities the first night, followed by a second night visiting two chapter houses, and commencing with Bid Day.
