The Iota Chapter of Kappa Sigma was founded at Southwestern University on October 12, 1886 at a time when Southwestern was just beginning to recognize fraternities on campus. Since then, Kappa Sigma has played an integral role in campus culture through the beginning of the last century, both World Wars, and the 1960s, having seen incredible changes throughout the past 126 years.
Members of Kappa Sigma have traditionally played an important role in academic, artistic, and philanthropic activities on and off campus. Kappa Sigma also boasts a dedicated group of alumni who show continued interest in the chapter.
Through looking forward and backward, we plan to remain strong as a chapter in the decades to come.
