Experience the inner workings of two of Austin's
numerous caves. This trip will
orient you to the fundamentals of spelunking (caving), while
you explore the
world below in a safe environment with other students. This trip
is physically
challenging and requires crawling through tight spaces, however
this is a great
trip for beginners that are interested in caves. So, come out
and get dirty!
Rock Climbing @ Reimer's Ranch -Promo

Join SIRA for a day of climbing at one of Central
Texas’s premier climbing
destinations. Reimer’s Ranch is located west of Austin
and offers climbs suitable
for beginners and experienced climbers. Trip is a perfect opportunity
to climb for
the first time or to be introduced to one of your local crags
if you are new to the
area.

Canoeing and Hiking @ Big Bend National Park
-Saturday, March 15th till Thursday March 20th

Join SIRA for an exploration of Big Bend
National Park. We will travel with
friends to West Texas and explore the beautiful Boquillas Canyon
by canoe, and
live in the canyon for three days. Then we will camp and spend
a day exploring
the area by foot with a hike. This trip will orient you to outdoor
travel skills and
allow you to explore a crown jewel of national parks. The trip
is designed to
return to campus on Thursday to accommodate the observance of
the Easter
Holiday weekend.
Sailing @ Lake Travis -Promo Flyer

Ever wanted to learn to sail, or just want to
try something new and exciting? Join
SIRA for a day at the lake. This day will incorporate sailing
instruction provided
by Austin Yacht Club trainers and then it’s all hands on
deck to practice sailing
around Lake Travis putting the instruction to practical use.
This will be a day of
learning and fun on beautiful Lake Travis.
Zip-line Canopy Tour @ Cypress Valley -Promo

Soar through the trees and experience the hill
country in a wild way. Join SIRA
as we venture into the canopy to experience the thrills of zip-line
touring through
a cypress grove. This is a wonderful chance to let off some steam
before finals
and get out with friends. We will spend the day in the tree tops
and do some
hiking, while relaxing in the great outdoors. See you in the
trees!!

Form
Registration for all trips/outings occurs at SIRA Sign-up nights
in McCombs Campus Center. A trip's/outing's specific Sign-up
night is listed on the SIRA
Calendar
and the trip/outing flyer. Each trip/outing requires a fee to
reserve a spot. The specific fee is also listed on the trip/outing
flyer.
Pre-trip Meeting
Pre-trip meetings are mandatory for all trip/outing participants.
The date, time, and location of the meeting is listed on the trip/outing
flyer. The pre-trip meeting is the only opportunity to discuss
details and complete forms. Each participant must have health
insurance and must bring proof of that insurance to the pre-trip
meeting.
