SOUTHWESTERN
UNVERSITY
Even with a small population of 1200 students at Southwestern University, there is a variety of social, racial/ethnic, class, sexual orientation, nationality, and religious differences on this campus. The Diversity Education Office works to create proactive interaction and experiences to bridge some of those differences. Through open discussion of social justice issues, students can share their own histories, backgrounds, and experiences while learning about others. It works to bring people from many cultures together to discuss issues of similarity and difference. Our beleif is that by increasing students' self-understanding, awareness and developement, the program works to create a common ground for students, thus encouraging a multicultural community on the Southwestern University campus. We at the Diversity
Education program invite you to peruse our web site, meet our staff, visit
our library holdings and learn about our programs. Understanding others'
perspectives is a process. Let us be able to assist you with that
journey!
