2008 Lecture: Tickets
Campus Community
Lecture seating is limited. Beginning March 5, the campus community will have first option to reserve tickets by e-mailing events@southwestern.edu. Faculty and staff can reserve two complimentary tickets each. Tickets can be picked up on the day of the lecture at the Alma Thomas Box Office, beginning at 5 p.m. or in the University Events Office, Cullen 33, April 3 through Apr. 18 from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.
General Public
All tickets to Southwestern University's 2008 Shilling Lecture in the Alma Thomas Theater have been reserved. You can see Former U.S. Senator Bill Bradley via simulcast in Room 110 of the F.W. Olin Building, which due to the large screen, will provide the best seat in the house! Bradley's speech, "The New American Story," will include "Nine Questions To Ask Before You Vote For President."
The Roy and Margaret Shilling Lecture Series was endowed by The Brown Foundation, Inc., of Houston, to honor the 13th President and First Lady of Southwestern University for 19 years of service to Texas' First University. The intent of the lecture series is to present internationally prominent speakers on topics relating to ethics, public service, and public policy. Past speakers have included Bill Moyers, President Jimmy Carter, Marian Wright Edelman, William Sloane Coffin, John McGuire, Karen Hughes, The Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Benazir Bhutto, Thomas H. Kean, and James Baker III.
