A completely mobile printmaking studio built to promote the growth and democratization of art through printmaking - selling wood-block prints on paper and t-shirts. Bring an old t-shirt or buy a new one! On the Academic Mall! 11am to 1pm, followed by a workshop demonstration in the printmaking studio.

Drive By Press was created to educate and share the contemporary practice of printmaking with students and art audiences across America. DBP has visited more than 100 Universities, Colleges,and public schools, traveling over 100,000 miles!

DBP loves the opportunity to share prints, techniques, Artists, and stories about the journey with students. Also, individual critiques and information about graduate programs for students who are interested in a M.F.A.

Printmaker Joseph Velasquez, has an M.A. and M.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin- Madison, and B.A. and B.F.A. from the University of Mary- Hardin Baylor. He is the co-founder of the Dirty Printmakers of America, curator of exhibitions at the SlingShot Gallery, Madison WI, and is published by Cannonball Press, Brooklyn NY. He has shown at many galleries across the country and has participated in many group exhibitions and art exchanges. After a four-year stint in the U.S Air Force, Joseph completed his two undergraduate degrees in both English and Art at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor in Central Texas.

Velasquez will present a lecture discussing current trends in art of printmaking and will perform a demonstation in the printmaking studio of the Fine Arts Center at 1pm, Monday, October 26 after the outdoor sale.
