The Sarofim School of Fine Arts at Southwestern University offers a world-class arts education to our students, and serves the Central Texas community by offering a wide selection of events, each year, in performance and visual arts.

Our programs lead to the BA in art and art history, music, and theatre, as well as the BFA in theatre and BMus in music. They are designed to prepare students for a variety of paths after graduation: teaching, work in the arts, or graduate school.

Artist Series

Each year, we bring to campus an outstanding and diverse roster of musicians, actors, artists, and art historians to perform, lecture and present their work. Many events are open to the public and free of charge. In addition to these visiting artists, our community is regularly treated to outstanding performances and exhibits by our own resident faculty artists: Patrick Veerkamp, Kiyoshi Tamagawa, Victoria Star Varner, David Asbury, Hai Zheng, Mary Hale Visser, Eri Lee Lam and others.

Friends of the SSFA

The Friends of the Sarofim School of Fine Arts exists to provide additional financial support to the programs of the Sarofim School. Membership includes a variety of benefits, including four special events each year, all planned around the performance and exhibition schedule of the Sarofim School. In addition, Friends enjoy a pre- or post-performance social event, as well as special "members only" presentations. Members also receive a special invitation to Southwestern's annual Roy & Margaret Shilling Lectures. To learn more about the Friends, click here.
