Information Security Plan

Southwestern University complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules regarding safeguarding of employee and student information. The regulations under 16 CFR Part 314 (Code of Federal Regulations) stemming from the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLB Act) mandate the safeguarding of customer information including, but not limited to, names, addresses, phone numbers, bank and credit card account numbers, income and credit histories, and social security numbers. Southwestern University implemented an Information Security Plan in May of 2003 which ensures compliance with these regulations. The Associate Vice President for Finance is the designated employee who coordinates and executes this plan. The full Information Security Plan is available in the Business Office.
