The following surveys have been administered at Southwestern
University and the subsequent reports are available here. As new
reports become available, they will be added to the list.
Faculty
Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE): Southwestern
participated in the pilot administration of this survey in
2003. It is designed to measure faculty expectations of student
engagement in educational practices that are empirically linked
with high levels of learning and development. They survey also
collects information about how faculty members spend their
times related to professorial activities and the kinds of learning
experiences their institution emphasizes.
2003 Results
HERI
Faculty Survey: The survey is designed to provide
colleges and universities with timely information about the
attitudes, experiences, concerns, job satisfaction, workload,
teaching practices, and professional activities of collegiate
faculty and administrators. Information resulting from the
survey can be used to facilitate self study and accreditation
activities; inform campus planning and policy analysis; enhance
faculty development programs; and improve students’ educational
experiences.

Results
The Integrated
Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) established
as the core postsecondary education data collection program
for NCES, is a system of surveys designed to collect data from
all primary providers of postsecondary education.
IPEDS
College Opportunities On-line (COOL) presents
data on institution prices, financial aid, enrollment, and
type of programs that are offered by the institution. IPEDS
COOL is designed to help college students, future students,
and their parents understand the differences between colleges
and how much it costs to attend college.
