You will need to sign time sheets come Monday. I will be out next week, so please email Neal (mannw@southwestern.edu) with any problems you have might encounter this weekend. Thanks and have a good Spring Break, David From williamd at southwestern.edu Fri Mar 7 20:06:08 2008 From: williamd at southwestern.edu (David Williamson) Date: Fri Mar 7 20:06:22 2008 Subject: [rcc] congrats Message-ID: <47D1F490.7020505@southwestern.edu> I wanted to pass on a compliment to you. Dr. Daniel Castro told me his Paideia students have been very impressed with the RCCs' dedication and hard work on the HW for Honduras Project. He said they spoke very highly of you guys, not only the ones that have been meeting with the groups, but also with all of you when we initially met with Paideia. He really lavished a lot of praise on you and was personally touched. Seems you have made some good friends. Those of us that have been to Honduras know what a huge difference this project can make for the locals. I also know how hard it is to fit this project into your schedule, and that more of you wanted to participate but could not because of your current work load. Also, all the computers slated to go to Honduras have been "touched" by now and sorted into two categories. One is the computers that were working correctly and have been wiped, tested, and image loaded (about 90 systems). They are ready to ship. The second category are the computers that have some sort of problem (bad cd-rom, bad hdd, can't get into BIOS to change boot order, etc.) and are about 30 in number. When you guys meet with the Paideia students next time, try to let the Paideia folks test the monitors while you guys work on the problem systems (or teach them how to swap out a hdd and cd-rom) I know meeting next week may not be possible for some of you with midterms and all. Finally, I wanted to announce we have added two more folks to our crew. The new RCCs are Lance Turri and Chris Elliott. We are trying to fit them into the schedule, so they may overlap with some of you. Please welcome them aboard. I will be out next week, so please use Neal as your main contact. I will be checking email occasionally. Good luck on your finals. And please have a fun but safe Spring Break.
