Our Mission

The Southwestern University Pirate Outreach Program contacts alumni, parents and friends of the University to update information, share news and events, and raise funds crucial to the lives of current students. Gifts to Southwestern are used in a variety of ways to meet the University’s most pressing needs — student scholarships, library resources, ongoing enhancements to the living-learning environment, continued improvement of equipment and resources, and professional development for faculty.

Without annual gifts, the University would be unable to provide the much-needed academic and program support that helps make the Southwestern Experience what it is. Thanks to the commitment of loyal alumni, parents and friends, we continue to provide an environment for highly motivated, accomplished students who value the tight-knit academic community found on campus. Every gift matters.

Our Job

It’s not just a job; it’s a calling. The Office of Annual Giving provides jobs to Southwestern students interested in helping raise money for the University. They come together in Joe S. Mundy Hall four nights a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday) to contact members of the Southwestern community, provide updates on news and events, and ask for support for The Southwestern Fund.
