Designing Rubrics 

Because Southwestern relies on departmental capstone rubrics, most professors are probably already familiar with the benefits of using rubrics. Since rubrics are useful for all types of assignments, we wanted to provide you some tips for developing rubrics for evaluating writing.

Developing a rubric for writing is similar to the work you may have done developing other rubrics and can essentially be broken down into three steps.  We hope the following pages will help you in:
