Faculty Surveys & Reports
The following surveys have been administered at Southwestern University and the subsequent reports are available on this page. As new reports become available, they will be added to the list.
Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE)
Southwestern participated in the pilot administration of this survey in 2003. It is designed to measure faculty expectations of student engagement in educational practices that are empirically linked with high levels of learning and development. The survey also collects information about how faculty members spend their time related to professorial activities and the kinds of learning experiences their institution emphasizes.
HERI Faculty Survey
The survey is designed to provide colleges and universities with timely information about the attitudes, experiences, concerns, job satisfaction, workload, teaching practices, and professional activities of collegiate faculty and administrators. Information resulting from this survey can be used to facilitate self study and accreditation activities; inform campus planning and policy analysis; enhance faculty development programs; and improve students’ educational experiences.
Established as the core postsecondary education data collection program for NCES, IPEDS is a system of surveys designed to collect data from all primary providers of postsecondary education.
Presents data on institution prices, financial aid, enrollment, and type of programs that are offered by the institution. IPEDS COOL is designed to help college students, future students, and their parents understand the differences between colleges and how much it costs to attend college.
