Tisha Temple has been involved in International Education for over ten years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies and Spanish from Trinity University and a Master of Arts in International Education from the School for International Training (SIT) Graduate Institute. She studied abroad in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina for a year in high school and at the Universidad de Costa Rica for a semester in college. Tisha has also traveled extensively to evaluate study abroad programs. Her master’s thesis looked at the connection between food and cultural knowledge/insights for students studying abroad in Italy. She actively participates in the International Education association, NAFSA, and previously taught a course preparing students for cultural adjustments in study abroad. She is passionate about experiential learning and cultural exchange, and making sure that students are fully supported throughout the process.
Cortney Graves developed a passion for intercultural learning and education while a student at Southwestern University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies/ Political Science with a concentration in East Asia from Southwestern. She also received a minor in Chinese. She studied abroad at the Beijing Language and Cultural University in Beijing, China. While there, her capstone looked at the effect culture and history have on the image of women. After graduation, Cortney went to Mandalay, Myanmar to teach at Horizon International School. There, she helped prepare the students to attend and compete at international universities after graduation. Cortney strongly believes in study abroad and cultural exchange. She loves to help students navigate the cultural landscape of another country and help prepare them for such an adventure.
