Shilling Lectures 2002

The 3rd Annual Roy and Margaret Shilling Lecture Series will be held at 7 p.m. on April 3, 2002, in the Corbin J. Robertson Center. Event funding is endowed by The Brown Foundation of Houston, Inc.
Speakers include Marian Wright Edelman, founder and president of the Children's Defense Fund (CDF); William Sloane Coffin, Yale chaplain emeritus; pastor emeritus, The Riverside Church, New York City; and one of America's most vocal proponents for peace and social justice; Andrew Young, human rights activist and chair of the Atlanta-based Good Works International; and John D. Maguire, president emeritus of the Claremont University Consortium and Graduate University; and senior fellow at CGU's Institute for Democratic Renewal.
The panel will present "Toward the Well-Being of Humanity: Lessons Learned." A Q&A period with students will follow. Alumni, parents, faculty, staff and students may reserve two complimentary tickets. Each ticket thereafter costs $10.
Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Roy & Margaret Shilling Library Enrichment Fund at Southwestern.
