Purpose
The National Minority Faculty Identification Program was inaugurated in the summer of 1985 to serve as a bridge between minority faculty candidates seeking employment and institutions of higher education. The process has changed over the years but our purpose has remained the same.
Program
We provide an online database for minority candidates to enter their vita
information as well as the ability to search the job posting pages of our
member institutions.
There is no charge to the candidates for this service.
Member institutions are able to search the database and download the desired
vitae. Once the vitae is downloaded institutions may contact directly those
candidates in whom they are further interested.
Institutions pay an annual membership fee of $200.00.
The program runs the academic year (August - May). The summer months are
used to update and/or revise the web pages and allow the candidates to update
their information in the database.
Four advertisements are placed in The Chronicle of Higher Education each
academic year listing all participating institutions and inviting minority
faculty persons interested in teaching positions at the listed institutions
to participate in the program.
Program Restrictions
As a non-profit service, this program is not designed or intended to provide
professional recruitment/placement services for either the member institutions
or the prospective candidates.
Southwestern University's Human Resources department serves only to coordinate
and facilitate participation in the program and is not involved in any of the
institutions' selection processes.
Prospective candidates should contact member institutions directly for additional
information regarding available positions, application status, or any other related
topics.
Only the on-line vita form is accepted for inclusion in the program. No faxed,
mailed, or emailed vitae will be included in the program's database.
Please Note: In order to receive your username (login) and password, you must click on the "submit" button on the last page of the vita form.
