Southwestern University has an immediate opening for a full-time Intercultural Learning Coordinator in the Office of Intercultural Learning.  The Office of Intercultural Learning provides guidance and assistance to Southwestern students who wish to study abroad as well as foreign students completing coursework at Southwestern University.

Major duties involve advising students regarding study abroad options with the goal of identifying the best program(s) to fit the student’s academic, financial, and personal needs; assisting with campus events (planning, logistics, promotion, and execution); collaborating with the Director on international student events (including International Student Orientation and the International Student Mentor Program); supervising student workers; conducting presentations on campus; processing student study abroad applications; maintaining the Office of Intercultural Learning Facebook page and Twitter account; and updating international student records in SEVIS (Student Exchange and Visitor Program).

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree; personal experience in an academic study abroad program; ability to work both independently and as a part of a team; excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects at once while managing time and logistics with a keen attention to detail; and excellent intercultural, verbal, written, and communication skills.  Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident as required by the Department of Homeland Security for SEVIS access.

Preferred Position Requirements: At least one year of work experience with study abroad in a higher education setting, preferably at an institution similar to Southwestern University; experience working with SEVIS; experience working with international students.
