Southwestern University invites applications for the position of Director of Admission. This is a year round, full-time position that supports the Dean of Admission & Enrollment Services in the development, implementation and overall administration of the new student enrollment plan and meeting institutional enrollment and net revenue goals.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  provide leadership and supervision of the new student recruitment team, including hiring, employee training and professional development, support in territory planning, budgeting and activity, position assessment program and overall employee evaluation; work with the Director of Financial Aid in the monitoring of divisional operating and new student institutional financial aid budgets; work with the Director of Admission Communication in establishing communication flow; represent Southwestern, the Enrollment Division and the Admission department to the appropriate internal and external committees and professional organizations; and maintain a predetermined admission territory that meets student recruitment objectives.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree; five years of demonstrated leadership skills, including a strong work ethic and supervisory experience of professional Admission staff; strong organizational skills; excellent computer skills utilizing software such as Microsoft Word and Excel; excellent interaction and communication skills, both written and verbal; have knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of cultural differences and the diversity within the campus and community; ability and willingness to travel utilizing standard, commercial, and/or personal modes of transportation; possess a valid Texas driver’s license and have the ability to lift boxes of at least 25 lbs. 

Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree; five or more (preferably seven plus) years of experience as an Admission Counselor at a college/university; knowledge of Enrollment planning and Financial Aid modeling and knowledge of SLATE information system.
