Southwestern University invites applications for an Admission Counselor position (4 positions). This is a full-time, year around position reporting to the Director of Admission. The Admission Counselor will represent Southwestern University to students and families via email, telephone and written forms of communication in addition to college night presentations, information sessions and personal interviews.  Additional responsibilities include: reviewing and evaluating applications and engaging in admission programs to present the mission of Southwestern University.  The work typically encompasses a traditional work day, but nights, weekend and business-related travel are common.  In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the position will also include administrative responsibilities, to be determined by the Dean and senior members of the admission staff based upon the candidate’s strengths and the needs of the organization.

Minimum qualifications include:  a bachelor’s degree, preferably from a school similar to Southwestern University; excellent written and oral communication skills including an affable nature; ability to appreciate and articulate the benefits of a national, residential, liberal arts and sciences college with high academic standards.  A valid driver’s license and lifting boxes over 25 lbs is also required.
