Victoria Star Varner, Professor of Art and Chair of Studio Art, was selected to exhibit an engraving at the Awagami International Print Exhibition at the Hall of Awa Japanese Paper in Yoshinogawa City, Tokushima, Japan. Her work was selected from nearly one thousand artworks from thirty-nine countries, two hundred and four of which were selected as ‘jurors’ choice’ works. Varner is one of twenty artists representing the United States. The exhibition was selected by a jury of seven professionals: Toshio Takeuchi (Senior Curator, Tokushima Modern Art Museum), Tadayasu Sakai (Director, Setagaya Art Museum), Chairman Yoichi Fujimori (Director, Awagami Factory), Takashi Mitani (Chief, Cultural Department, Editorial Board, Tokushima Shimbun)
, Keisei Kobayashi (Printmaker), Mitsuru Hiraki (printmaker), and Hideki Kimura (printmaker).  It will be on view from October 12 – November 10, 2013.
