On February 21, 2009, the department of Mathematics and Computer Science honored four outstanding students with awards.

The Atkin Memorial Scholarship in Mathematics was awarded to Jon Thomas Rogers, who won the Grogan Lord Award in Computer Science last year, and Sean Robert Watson. This $1000 scholarship is awarded annually to the outstanding junior-level mathematics major as determined by the departmental faculty. This year, we were unable to choose between these two excellent students.

The Ralph Whitmore Award in Mathematics was given to Brian Christopher Kabat, who was the recipient of the Atkin Memorial Scholarship last year. This award is given annually to the outstanding senior-level mathematics major, as determined by departmental faculty.

The Grogan Lord Award was given to Stephen Ryan Foster, who also won the Atkin Memorial Scholarship last year. This award is given annually to the outstanding computer science major, as determined by departmental faculty.

Congratulations to our outstanding award recipients!
