Southwestern University invites applications for the position of Admission Communication Graphic Designer. This position involves creating communications that effectively describe and promote the Southwestern Experience. This is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits which reports to the Director of Admission Communication within the Enrollment Services department.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: conceptualize and design key digital properties and print solutions with the goal of enhancing appeal and functionality to the end-user and to support strategic university goals in the areas of recruitment and financial aid; work with the Director of Admission Communication to develop a comprehensive, multi-channel, communication plan, while working within a palette of elements to facilitate brand consistency; work closely with Director of Admission Communication and Director of University Relations-Creative Services to develop the overall creative vision for the Enrollment Services division; research and develop content for production of promotional materials (print and electronic); multi-task and meet proposed project deadlines; and work with third-party vendors in the areas of photography, mail services, printers and related services.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to: Bachelor’s degree in design, marketing, communication, advertising, or related field; two to three years of experience in design or communications fields; thorough understanding of design principles, including typography; knowledge of all aspects of the printing process; strong proficiency in Adobe products, MS Office, Final Cut Pro, and other design software; experience with digital photography; demonstrated project management skills; strong work ethic; understanding and commitment to a liberal arts education, including the ability to relate to a liberal arts faculty; possess excellent interaction and communication skills (verbal and written); have knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of cultural differences and the diversity within the campus and community; ability and willingness to travel utilizing standard, commercial and/or personal transportation as well as work an occasional Saturday or Sunday.
