Senior Secretary - Office of Spiritual and Religious Life

Southwestern University, located in Georgetown, has an immediate opening for a Senior Secretary. This is a full-time, twelve-month position with full benefits. This secretarial position provides support to the University Chaplain.
Primary responsibilities: greet on and off campus constituents;answer all incoming phone calls and provide overall office organization for the University Chaplain; assist with promotional activities, including publicity and communications for the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life and its programs; coordinate and manage calendar schedules, travel arrangements, meeting arrangements, and other related activities; transcribe weekly sermons; organize catered functions; assist in preparation of special Chapel services and maintain Chapel supplies; maintain budget reports and perform budgetary functions; provide clerical support to student workers who coordinate the yearly Destination Service program; along with other duties assigned by the Chaplain.
Position requirements: high school education; five or more years office/clerical experience (prior senior-level secretarial experience preferred); trained in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; dependable and punctual; possess basic spelling, grammar, punctuation, proofreading, editing, and drafting skills; excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including outstanding telephone etiquette; application of professionalism, tact, diplomacy, sensitivity, and confidentiality; excellent organizational skills; must be multi-task oriented, focused, efficient, and have the ability to adjust to fluctuating priorities in a fast-paced office environment. The person in this position must have a demonstrated record of flexibility and willingness to serve and interact with all individuals (students, faculty, staff, and external constituencies) without regard to sex, race, color, religion, age, disability, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, or any other impermissible factor.
