The person in this position creates a welcoming environment for students and parents visiting the Wilhelmina Cullen Admission Center, which includes both the Southwestern Office of Admission and the Financial Aid Office.
Primary duties include: Co-coordination of daily campus visitation program, including, but not limited to, co-supervising student tour guides, facilitating overnight host and guest check-in, preparing visitation folders/materials to be distributed, updating visitor name board and creating monthly visitation reports. Other duties include: assisting with data entry, serving as a backup to the staff secretary, answering multi-line phones, collecting and distributing mail, and assisting other members of the Admission and Financial Aid team with various projects and other secretarial duties as required. This full-time, year round position reports to the Director of Admission Communication.
The successful candidate should possess a high school diploma or equivalent; three years office/clerical experience; commitment to provide outstanding customer service; excellent verbal communication skills; excellent telephone etiquette and command of grammar; flexibility regarding changing priorities; excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with a keen attention to detail; excellent conflict resolution skills and an astute problem solving ability as well as the ability to remain poised in a busy office environment. Computer literacy is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected.
