Students in this semester’s capstone seminar, “Investigating the Aesthetic (Re)Turn(s) in Literary Studies,” taught by Dr. Jim Kilfoyle, presented condensed versions of their capstone papers in the Prothro Room of the Smith Library Center on Wednesday, May 1.

Fourteen English majors–Barbara Burgess, Amy Cutler, Andrew Reynolds, Molly Pinkerton, Danielle Van Zandt, Mark Cotham, Rachel Jackson, Andrea Gannon, Leigh Daniel, Devin Corbitt, Paige Duggins, Addison Dean, Allison Chance, and Riley Webb–presented papers on the research they have undertaken as part of this semester’s capstone seminar. The standing-room crowd heard papers focusing on material ranging from jazz improvisation to trauma and Virginia Woolf. A delightful time was had by all.
