Summer Scholarship Recipients

Eight music students received scholarships for summer programs abroad and in the U.S.

Eight Southwestern University music students have auditioned and been accepted into various summer music programs abroad and in the U.S. They were also awarded scholarships through the generous contributions of the Friends of the Sarofim School of Fine Arts.


Abigail Jackson ‘15 and Julius Young ‘14 have been accepted at The Festival of International Opera of the Americas in Campinas, Brazil. Keeley Hooker ‘14 and Melissa Krueger ‘15 have been accepted at the Opera in the Ozarks, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Stacie Glowka ‘13 has been accepted into The University of Texas String Project for the Suzuki Teacher Training Certification. Kevin Bryant ‘16 has been accepted at the Mediterranean Opera Studio in Palermo, Italy. Andrew Smith ‘13 has been accepted into the guitar academy of Le Domaine Forget in Quebec, Canada. Allie Bryan ‘13 has been accepted into the Conductors’ Institute at Southwestern University.
