Maryhelen Murray ‘15 loves Old Oriental Carpets!  Check out Special Collections’ new “One Book, One Case, One Exhibit” on the library’s second floor.  This case, located near the main elevator and the GIS classrooms, is designed to bring a work from Special Collections out into a public space for all to view.

Maryhelen chose this large folio because she was fascinated by the 1926 “state of the art” color printing process that brilliantly reproduced the color and texture of the carpets.  The carpetsthemselves, owned by museums and rich private collectors, are rare and historically significant.

You too can do an exhibit based on Special Collections!  Contact Kathryn Stallard at x1221.
