AWOLNATION, an electronic rock band from Los Angeles, will be the featured performer at Southwestern University’s third annual Clusterfest
music festival, which will take place April 26 in the Corbin J. Robertson Center.

AWOLNATION was formed in 2010 and released its first studio album, Megalithic Symphony, in 2011. Three hit singles came out of that album − “Kill Your Heroes,” “Not Your Fault” and “Sail,” which reached #10 on the U.S. Billboard Rock Songs chart. The band consists of four members and front man Aaron Bruno.

Other artists scheduled to perform at this year’s Clusterfest include Crizzly, Heems (of Das Racist), The Wheeler Brothers, Wild Child and Ghostbunny. Student performers include Flatline (featuring first-year student Mitch Peterson and senior Michael Flatley), DJ Lips (featuring junior Jake Phillips), sophomore Zac Cleveland, first-year student Pat Jara, Cooper Street Improv Troupe, sophomore Sarah Cook and senior Thomas Murphy, who will perform spoken word.

“This year we wanted to diversify our lineup,” said Clusterfest co-chair Dempsey Jones. “We feel that the bands that we are bringing onto campus will represent the different demographics we have here at Southwestern.”

Clusterfest is planned by the University Programming Council and the Clusterfest Think Tank. The other student co-chair of this year’s event is Marlena Serrano.

“With two years of Clusterfest under our belt, we felt that the feedback we have been receiving from attendees really helped us shape this year’s event,” Serrano said.

Last year’s food vendors from Clusterfest will be back and will be located outside the Robertson Center. These vendors include Amy’s Ice Cream, The Peached Tortilla and Southwestern’s student-run Korouva Milk Bar. Artist and organizational booths will also be located outside the Robertson Center.
