My drawings, paintings, and prints are playful explorations of themes and ideas that are conceived within my sketchbooks. Drawing in these books comes very naturally to me and I strive to translate the same sense of freedom and humor into my larger pieces. Combining representational imagery with abstract marks as well as comic influenced figures with fine art languages are the challenges I explore during art making.  The themes I am drawn to, especially within my figurative pieces, are awkwardness, introversion, and decadence. These themes interest me because they are the perfect starting points to respond in a contemporary way to the condition of my generation.
