Director of University Relations - Gift Programs
Ten years after graduating, Melissa returned to Southwestern as the Director of University Relations – Gift Programs where she manages the annual giving programs in order to raise current funds for the University. Formerly she served as Director of Annual Giving at Concordia University Texas where she managed the Concordia Annual Fund, soliciting financial support and building partnerships with corporate and community donors. She also holds additional experience in nonprofit development and communications working at the Colorado River Foundation and American YouthWorks in Austin, TX. She graduated with a BA in Communication Studies in 2004 from Southwestern University and holds an MA in Mass Communication with a concentration in Strategic Communication from Texas State University. She participates as a member of The Junior League of Austin, the Leadership Council of the River Society of the Colorado River Alliance, Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Friends of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas.
