Spend your Spring Break working with classmates to improve various communities!  Trips to New Orleans, Tucson (AZ), and a national park in Arizona.

Turn in your application for Destination Service: Spring Break 2013!  Trips are from March 9 - 16, 2013.  Application is due February 8th.

The Tucson, Arizona “Hunger Outreach and Immigration” group will pick citrus fruit with United Nations Refugees, serve meals at a homeless shelter, and go for a Desert Walk with the Tucson Samaritans who provide humanitarian aid to those lost in the Sonora Desert.

Of course, if you are someone who likes to go camping, the Gila Wilderness “Environmental Outreach” trip is for you (also in Arizona).  Students will volunteer with the National Parks Service on trail repair, creek bed maintenance, and to remediate damage from the 2012 forest fires.

The New Orleans “Disaster Relief and Outreach” trip will work with The Epworth Project based in Slidell, Louisiana. They will be doing important reconstruction work for victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Isaac throughout the greater New Orleans area.  Students will repair homes needing insulation, painting, drywall, flooring, ramps, etc.  They will learn about immediate and long-term disaster relief.  A cultural excursion to New Orleans is included.

The cost for each trip is only $100 and includes food, transportation & lodging for the whole time. For those who can show need, there are scholarships available. If you need to make payments rather than pay the entire amount at once, we have that option as well. Just click on the link for the application.
